MORE FILM STUDIOS COMING TO THE ATL>>WATCH OUT HOLLYWOOD.

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

MORE FILM STUDIOS COMING TO THE ATL>>WATCH OUT HOLLYWOOD.
THEY JUST KEEP ON COMING:

A new $110 million movie and TV studio for filming and editing productions is moving forward with plans to open in Covington in 2017, according to Georgia planning documents. Evidently, the company sees a great need to keep its cards close to the chest.
An entity named Three Rings Studios has submitted the paperwork necessary to begin the review process required to move forward with construction of a 700,000 square foot facility. {THAT'S 15+ ACRES FOLKS} That’s according to Development of Regional Impact forms the company’s agent submitted Aug. 25, as posted by the state Department of Community Affairs.
Reviews of the proposal have yet to be scheduled by the Northeast Georgia Regional Commission, based in Athens, and GRTA, according to the DRI. The governmental entities will review for compatibility with existing development plans for the 12-county region.
Three Rings Studios, LLC was incorporated March 24. The category where the nature of the industry is cited is completed with the words, “any legal purpose,” according to the articles of incorporation posted on the site of the Georgia Secretary of State. No officers of the company are listed. The agent is listed as Elizabeth Crockett, with a business address on Perimeter Center West, near Perimeter Mall.

JUST A LITTLE TASTE OF COSTS FOR SHOOTING A FEATURE FILM:

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

THIS IS A RE-POST BECAUSE SOOO MANY THINK, IF YOU ARE A 'NATURAL'
THEY WILL FIT YOU IN....'I DON'T THINK SO'>>
JUST A LITTLE TASTE OF COSTS FOR SHOOTING A FEATURE FILM:

Most Feature Films will use multiple cameras for filming. You don't want to blow up a dam with just one camera,
or have a great car wreck scene, only to find out, the angle was all wrong..or even worse the camera had some
problems while filming all of those special effects.
Film gear is never cheap, as most filmmakers and video producers know all too well. Early in your career, you’ll buy a few pieces of gear that will allow you to complete projects and get your reel together. Then, when you find some success, you’ll begin adding crew members and working with a production team. At this point in your career, you’ll be renting your gear.
If you’re fortunate enough to work within the studio system, then you’ll see a level of drool-worthy, astronomically priced gear that very few filmmakers ever will. Just for kicks, let’s daydream about working with some of the most expensive gear in the world.
Panavision Film Cameras
Camera: $120,000+ (rumored) Lenses: $500,000 for a full set. Renting one camera: $16,000 to $20,000 per week. Quite literally: Including salaries, locations, food, licenses,,,,hundreds of thousands of dollars per day. Maybe that's why 'if you are an actor' they just might want to see your bio, your resume, your background etc. Or just maybe, you are a known quality

DON'T THINK,,KNOW AND ACT>>

IN MY OPINION:

WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

DON'T THINK,,KNOW AND ACT>>
“Don’t think. You already know what you have to do, and you know how to do it. What’s stopping you?” — Tim Grover
Rather than analyzing and thinking, act. Attuned to your senses, and with complete trust in yourself, do what you instinctively feel you should. As Oprah has said, “Every right decision I have ever made has come from my gut. Every wrong decision I’ve made was the result of me not listening to the greater voice of myself.” The moment you start thinking, you’ve already lost. Thinking swiftly pulls you out of the zone.

HE WHO HESITATES IS LOST:

IN MY OPINION;
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

My first blog in over a week. Daughter wrecked her car and
I had to go to Flordia.  Sorry.

HE WHO HESITATES IS LOST:

One who cannot come to a decision many times will suffer for it, as in couldn't make up their mind
and now the opportunity, the offer has expired.
Happens every day. Hope you're not one of them.

A PRO IS SOMEONE WHO CAN STILL DO THEIR BEST WORK EVEN WHEN THEY DON'T FEEL LIKE IT>>>

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

A PRO IS SOMEONE WHO CAN STILL DO THEIR BEST WORK
EVEN WHEN THEY DON'T FEEL LIKE IT>>>

As an actor do not expect that it's going to always be easy, because it's NOT>
In fact most of your professional acting journey is going to be rough.  Don't let
the rough stretches put you out of commission. Keep on with your journey. This
rough patch will show what your made of. This 'patch' is no place to let the Nay-sayers
get you off track....walk away. Think about the stretches that made you happy, or when
you nailed your first audition.  View with a smile both the bad times and the good times,
as well as those that inspired you and what 'all of those times' put what's right there in
front of you now.

SPINOFF OF GAME OF THRONES==NOT INSPIRING????

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

SPINOFF OF GAME OF THRONES==NOT INSPIRING????

GAME OF MOANS

Game of Thrones kicked off its new season this week with record ratings for the series and for HBO, and debuted to near-universal critical praise. But the next partnership between the cable network and Game of Thrones show-runners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss is inspiring a much less enthusiastic reaction. On Wednesday, HBO announced that after Thrones, Benioff and Weiss’s next series will be an alternative-history drama called Confederate, “where the southern states have successfully seceded from the Union, giving rise to a nation in which slavery remains legal and has evolved into a modern institution.” Of the announcement, VF.com’sJoanna Robinson asks, “Are these the right people to tell that story?”, pointing out that Benioff and Weiss, who are white, have come under fire for the way their series depicts race and slavery. Two creatives of color, Nichelle Tramble Spellman (Justified, The Good Wife) and Malcolm Spellman (Empire) will be co-writing and executive producing the series, but their involvement has not inoculated HBO from some blistering criticism. At the Daily Beast, after calling Confederate“stupid as hell,

THIS IS A RE-POST FROM LAST OCT...BUT STILL WORKS TODAY.

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS

THIS IS A RE-POST FROM LAST OCT...BUT STILL WORKS TODAY.

Way, way too many wannabe actors/models think that because they got photos done, and took a couple of classes,
that they just have to sit and wait by the phone or even to door. Surely Hollywood will come calling. They are probably
the only one that's waiting. Correct?
NOT!

WHY DO PEOPLE WANT TO BE ACTORS?

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

WHY DO PEOPLE WANT TO BE ACTORS?
HERE ARE A FEW REASONS>

Most of my friends are actors,  or at the minimum in the business in some capacity'

- They acted when the were children (maybe because their parents enrolled them in a drama class) and fell in love with it. Many people who have experienced it, do. It's a tremendous amount of work with a whopping payoff (and I'm not talking about money). Theater and Film projects seem to last for about the perfect length of time. You work really hard and super intently for two-to-six months, see (and feel) the results, and then move on.
- They found acceptance in the theater community when no other group would embrace them. Theater people tend to be very liberal and open-minded.
- They fell in love with dramatic literature (Shakespeare, etc) and wanted to devote their lives to it. (Some people fall in love with musical theater and want to devote their lives to that.) - The enjoy the mixture of intellectual, intuitive, and athletic work.- They are exhibitionists- They have an endless craving for attention.  They love entertaining people.
 They like playing dress-up. - They are generally shy or emotionally constrained and need an outlet. They find they are able to cast away their inhibitions when they are on stage.
- They want to attract men or women. They believe being-an-actor will help them get laid.
 They want to be rich and famous. (which many times backfires.)- They want to be involved in the theater or film in some other capacity, such as writing or directing but find it easier to get acting gigs
THE END:

WHAT'S BEST..TV, OR FILM?

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

WHAT'S BEST..TV, OR FILM?
TV is (currently) less franchise-fixated

Hollywood is increasingly reliant on brand recognition, churning out endless sequels and spinoffs and reboots because it's easier than marketing an original idea. TV, meanwhile, is far more eager to take a punt on something new. Admittedly there are clouds on the horizon – we're already got an Avengers TV show, and soon we'll have spin-offs of Modern Family, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad and possibly Dexter to sift through for signs of life – but for now, TV retains the upper hand. BUT AS AN ACTOR YOU WANT TO DO WHATEVER IT IS THAT PAYS AND MAKES YOU HAPPY.....Personally I prefer TV, if I don't like it, I can turn it off and it does not cost me an arm and a leg

NEW GENERATION OF FEMALE ACTORS>>

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

NEW GENERATION OF FEMALE ACTORS>>

Image caption Are Jodie Whittaker and Daisy Ridley paving the way?
It looks like Jodie Whittaker was prepared for the criticism that she might get as the first female Doctor.
"I want to tell the fans not to be scared of my gender," she said. "This is a really exciting time."
It is an exciting time and not just for Jodie - female leads have been cropping up with increasing regularity on the big and small screens.
And sci-fi and superhero films have been leading the way.
Recently, Wonder Woman was credited for inspiring a new generation of girls, by teaching them they can save the world, too.
And in the Star Wars' universe Rey, played by Daisy Ridley, and Jyn Erso, played by Felicity Jones, also proved that male-dominated franchises could be reinvented for the modern day with women taking a leading role.

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 'GOALS', STRATAGIES, AND TACTICS.:

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN 'GOALS', STRATAGIES, AND TACTICS.:

Identifying and quitting the wrong things is critical to the success of any big plan. Getting it just right is hard, though. In order to do a better job, its worth looking at how a big plan breaks down and how quitting certain parts of it can be more effective than others. A very big plan can be broken down into three major components: the goal, the strategy, and the tactics.
Your goal is the “big plan.” It’s the overarching thing that you really want to achieve. The strategy is your conceptual idea of what it will take to get there. And the tactics are the actual actions you take. Can you see the hierarchy there? Lets pretend I want to take a trip to New York. That’s my goal. The most important thing to me is that I get there and have a good time. This doesn’t ever change – it’s the foundation.>>>Now that I’m set on what I want, I need a strategy to get me there. This of course, is not only being a professional talent, but truthfully just about every other job that's worth having,

WHY ACTORS QUIT THE BUSINESS:

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

WHY ACTORS QUIT THE BUSINESS:

""I've tried and tried and tried"">>>>Many of us never get to that point.
As I’ve written in previous articles, far too many people who think they want to be actors think of it as a lottery—just being in the right place and the right time in order to be “discovered.” They have no real strategy, but are instead just wishing for a happy accident. They don’t develop their craft or their God given skills because they think it’s all a question of talent— either you have it or you don’t. And, my friends, haven’t we seen so many of our formerly fellow actors give up when they’ve exhausted their money, mental, emotional, and physical health, and their 20s?
Working in casting, I’m always seeing familiar faces of actors I’ve been putting on tape for years. I also love seeing new faces and getting to know their efforts, their plans. But, I’d really like to see a list of all the actors who’ve left the business in the many years I’ve been casting.and running an agency And, I’d like to know the reasons why. Most likely it is going to boil down to 'real preparation' and not 'perceived preparation. The last being, or coming from bad advice.

FEW SHOCKS AT THE EMMY NOMINATIONS:

IN MY OPINION;
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

FEW SHOCKS AT THE EMMY NOMINATIONS:

SNUB: Oprah Winfrey  You may have thought the Academy could never snub Winfrey — voters just spot her name on the ballot, and even if they haven’t seen her in the role for which she’s nominated, they’ll usually still give her the nod. But this year that proved not to be true, as Winfrey was overlooked for limited series “The Immortal LIFE OF HENRIETTA LACKS  SURPRISE: Westworld” ties with “Saturday Night Live” for the most Emmy nominations this year. After years of genre programming not getting much attention in the top categories (with the notable exception of “Game of Thrones,” of course), the Academy recognized HBO’s sci-fi western thriller. “Westworld” garnered 22 nominations in categories that ranged from outstanding drama series to outstanding directing for a drama. This could be a turning point for the awards.

SO...EXACTLY WHAT 'IS' ACTING??

IN MY OPINION;
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

SO...EXACTLY WHAT 'IS' ACTING??

Acting is an activity in which a story is told by means of its enactment by an actor or actress who adopts a character—in theater, televisionfilmradio, or any other medium that makes use of the various methods and means of acting.
Acting involves a broad range of skills, including a well-developed imagination, emotional facility, physical expressions,, vocal projection, clarity of speech, and the ability to interpret drama. Acting also demands an ability to employ dialectsaccentsimprovisation, observation and emulation,,even stage and combat.. Many actors train at length in specialist programs or colleges to develop these skills. The vast majority of professional actors have undergone extensive training. Actors and actresses will often have many instructors and teachers for a full range of training involving singing, scene-work, audition techniques, and acting for camera. And practice, practice and more practice.

Keep your hands up. Stay in character: Off book

IN MY OPINION;
WILLIAM REYNOLDS;

Keep your hands up. Stay in character: Off book>

Stumbling Over Lines in an Audition is Not the End of the World

Auditions are about whether or not you are best to play the character, not if you can merely recite the lines. Is it better to be off book (know the lines and the character) than not to be off-(the) book (not in character) ? Yes. But knowing the lines is not the essential part, not the most important. Have fun, play the role, and don't worry. You can stumble over the lines in an audition and still book.

YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE AUDITIONING

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE AUDITIONING;

Do be mindful of your fellow actors waiting.
It’s great to be friendly, and a genuine smile at those around you will certainly do no harm. But please resist the urge to blindly begin socializing. Many people will likely be reviewing their monologue, studying sides, or generally focusing on keeping themselves centered and prepared before they walk into their audition. The quickest way to make a pest of yourself is to boorishly encroach on the personal time/space of others, and heightened pre-audition nerves might make your seat neighbor a little less tolerant than he’d usually be. Bottom line: just be respectful of everyone’s needs. They want and deserve a clear head before their audition just as much as you do.

DRESS THE PART;

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS;

DRESS THE PART;

I just now sent out a blog to everyone we represent, on this exact same subject.
But don't take just 'my word' for it,,read on.

Heidi Dean, founder of Marketing 4 Actors
You have a five-page scene and two songs to learn for your audition tomorrow so, naturally, your audition attire is the last thing on your mind. But you know the minute you walk in the room they’ll be judging you—even before you show them how awesome you are. Clothes are a big part of this first impression! What do your audition clothes say about you? Your audition clothes should:
  • Show them who you are!
  • Be comfortable!
  • Be appropriate for the role you’re auditioning for.
  • Highlight your best features (in size and color).
  • Look good on camera (for film and TV auditions).

WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED:

IN MY OPINION:

WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

WHAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED:

Twenty yrs ago this week Men in Black was released. Originally Steven Spielberg wanted Chris Odonell fresh of his Batman movie and Clint Eastwood to play the roles. They couldn't get either one so Barry Sonnenfield called Will Smith and lied to him, saying he wanted him all along, along with Tommy Lee Jones for the lead roles. They agreed and who knows what possible disaster they avoided. The movie cost 90 Million to produce and grossed over 600 million worldwide, and started the franchise

Questionable ethics of what Sonnenfeld did aside, one can’t argue with the results. Smith ended up being the perfect choice for J, and proved to have tremendous chemistry with Jones as a duo. Without those two actors, MIB would arguably have not been nearly the hit it was, nor spawned such an enduring franchise, complete with copious amounts of tie-in merchandise and even theme park rides.

On the other hand, one wonders what O’Donnell thinks about Sonnenfeld’s trickery. Considering that he’s gone to on to have a successful career in his own right – although granted not to the level of Smith – one assumes he’s probably gotten over it by now. Either way, in some alternate universe, O’Donnell and Eastwood starred in Men in Black, and that is a strange thought indeed.

"I'M A NATURAL"

MARLON BRANDO CONSIDERED THE BEST FILM ACTOR EVER..STUDIED W-LEE STRASBERG.

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

"I'M A NATURAL"

Do Professional Athletes have to work out?  Or do they just naturally beat up Mike Tyson?
Do Professional Soldiers have to learn what they are doing? Or do they just naturally say "I'm a natural, just send me straight to Iraq" I'll get that all straightened out"
I THINK NOT, AND I'M PRETTY SURE YOU DO AS WELL.
Yet there are those that say '' I'm a natural actor" " I don't need professional training" "Just put me in there with say,,, Denzel Washington and see who comes out on top"
BELIEVE IT OR NOT THERE ARE SOME THAT ACTUALLY BELIEVE THAT!!!!!

COMMENT FROM HALLE BERRY

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

COMMENT FROM HALLE BERRY:
AT CANNES--- FRENCH RIVERA THIS WEEK;

CANNES — Halle Berry has blasted those in Hollywood who complain about issues and the effectiveness of movements like Black Lives Matter, but then do nothing to create change.
The Oscar-winning actress said, “In my world, I get so tired of people complaining about, ‘Oh black lives matter,’ and they pontificate and pontificate about it, and I say, ‘Well, what are you doing about that? It may not seem significant to you, but that’s how we start. Have you called your local politicians, have you written a letter?'”
Appearing at the Cannes Lions Girls’ Lounge in conversation with founder Shelley Zalis, Berry continued, “When they say they’ve done nothing, I say, ‘Well, don’t talk to me … because you are part of the problem, because you are sitting here spewing negativity and complaining.’”
She added, “I don’t have time for people who talk the talk but don’t walk the walk.”
WHEN SHE SAYS: MY WORLD>>She is referring to the film industry, and that is sooooo correct. You>>>We see it every single day...wannabe actors that do very little to improve their marketability,
but complain about just about everything in the industry. Sad thing is they rarely change

Happy 4th of July

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

JULY 4TH..INDEPENDENCE DAY;

While many of us will be setting off fireworks, eating barbeque, maybe going to the lake.
And that is what we do
But July the 4th is also Independence Day. The day 241 years ago that America declared
their independence from King George and England. Thousands of the new Americans died,
so that we can go to the lake and set off some fireworks, and spend time with family and friends.
It might also be a good time to take a moment or two to say thanks for the freedoms that we
all enjoy this day, 241 years later.

PEOPLE THAT REFUSE

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

PEOPLE THAT REFUSE, WHAT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM.
