WHY DO PEOPLE WANT TO BE ACTORS?

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

WHY DO PEOPLE WANT TO BE ACTORS?
HERE ARE A FEW REASONS>

Most of my friends are actors,  or at the minimum in the business in some capacity'

- They acted when the were children (maybe because their parents enrolled them in a drama class) and fell in love with it. Many people who have experienced it, do. It's a tremendous amount of work with a whopping payoff (and I'm not talking about money). Theater and Film projects seem to last for about the perfect length of time. You work really hard and super intently for two-to-six months, see (and feel) the results, and then move on.
- They found acceptance in the theater community when no other group would embrace them. Theater people tend to be very liberal and open-minded.
- They fell in love with dramatic literature (Shakespeare, etc) and wanted to devote their lives to it. (Some people fall in love with musical theater and want to devote their lives to that.) - The enjoy the mixture of intellectual, intuitive, and athletic work.- They are exhibitionists- They have an endless craving for attention.  They love entertaining people.
They like playing dress-up. - They are generally shy or emotionally constrained and need an outlet. They find they are able to cast away their inhibitions when they are on stage.
- They want to attract men or women. They believe being-an-actor will help them get laid.
They want to be rich and famous. (which many times backfires.)- They want to be involved in the theater or film in some other capacity, such as writing or directing but find it easier to get acting gigs
THE END:
