THE GEORGIA FILM INDUSTRY #1 IN THE WORLD

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

ONCE AGAIN>> THE GEORGIA FILM INDUSTRY #1 IN THE WORLD << BUT THE CORONAVIRUS,
HAS THROWN A WRENCH INTO THAT LITTLE NUGGET!

First, let me start off by saying that Georgia’s film industry is stronger than ever. The industry continues to break records. In fiscal year 2019, the 391 film and television productions that shot here spent $2.9 billion in Georgia, supported 3,040 motion picture and television industry businesses, and delivered $9.2 billion in total wages.
And on a former post I said..the State is still issuing licenses for new productions,,regardless of the virus.

Some Atlanta restaurants won't reopen next Monday.

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

Some Atlanta restaurants won't reopen next Monday.

Gov. Brian Kemp's announcement that restaurants can reopen surprised some restaurant owners, who don't think it's safe to open yet. >>> Yet a closer look, it seems it's those restaurants that have deeper pockets that say that. Others say that they will space chairs and tables a tad further apart to abide by the social distancing suggestions.  I have friends of mine that are in the restaurant/bar business that can't wait,,they like most smaller business's are hurting.. This cannot continue for much longer. Neither can bailouts.

IT'S GETTING CRAZIER EVERY DAY!!!

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

IT'S GETTING CRAZIER EVERY DAY!!!

Los Angeles actor was handcuffed for a self-taping monologue.
LA actor Tyree Freely says he was self-taping a monologue from August Wilson’s Jitney in his apartment for casting director Lean Daniels-Butler’s Quarantine Project. Then he heard a knock on his door and it was the police.
“I looked through the peephole and didn’t see anything, so I opened the door to see 2 LAPD officers on the sides of my door. They told me to step out of my own home as they asked me who was inside. As I informed them that it was just me inside, they weren’t trying to tell me what happened nor were they trying to tell me their names. I told them how I was making a self tape for class (though they didn’t know what a self tape was nor did they believe me). Then, they were trying to place me under arrest for something I had no idea about.”
Apparently, a neighbor heard Freely’s audition and was concerned. As a result, his neighborhood called the LAPD.“They finally told me someone called them because of some possible fighting going on here, so instead of asking me to wait outside, they decided to ‘detain’ me … They finally said it was suspicion of domestic violence in my apartment! AS I AM IN MY HOME BY MYSELF! Who am I beating up? Myself?”

TWO VIEWS OF RIGHT OR WRONG

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

TWO VIEWS OF RIGHT OR WRONG>>

SO, Tom Brady recently signed with Tampa Bay and is getting all settled in his new environment.
On Sunday the 19th of April he went to the 'huge' park all by himself to work out, you know to stay
kind of in shape for football. The park was closed and completely empty. BUT there is an ordinance
in Tampa against that activity and he was given a citation for breaking it...>> I know it's an ordinance
and enforceable by 'Tampa' law..so this is Right...Right? But is it practical? Is the Government overdoing
this just a tad? Probably a 50/50 by most. >>> Probably re-thinking New England about now <<<

CORONAVIRUS AND THE FILM INDUSTRY

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS

CORONAVIRUS AND THE FILM INDUSTRY>>

The immense and lucrative Chinese film industry was hit almost immediately as movie theaters across the country were closed and major releases were delayed. Hollywood soon began to feel the effects, too, and as time passes, the impact of the coronavirus on the global film and entertainment industries will certainly grow.
Consequences of the pandemic on these industries could range from lowered attendance at film festivals and disruptions in film distribution to delayed or canceled movie releases and concert dates to curtailed on-location film shoots. Financial ramifications will likely be felt by studios, filmmakers, theater owners, and more for some time to come. Even agents 'like us' are effected, when 90% of films are on hold or have not begun yet. Georgia
had over 30 films filming just a few short weeks ago. Of course we are still doing tv spots and parts of some
films that don't require tons of people in a small space.. Recovery coming soon...hope, hope.

Killers of the Flower Moon: Martin Scorsese might have to bring new Leonardo DiCaprio film to Netflix as it's too expensive ..Films ballooning budget has seen it become more than $50m more expensive than The Irishman,
and they are not filming...guess why?

Around 43,000 unionized workers of Walt Disney World will be furloughed, according to the Service Trades Council. Affected employees are immediately eligible for unemployment benefits in Florida, and those with insurance can keep their benefits for up to a year. Disney says it will pay all insurance costs.

THE FILM INDUSTRY'S NUMBER ONE PLACE TO MARKET YOUR FILM AND "PARTY"

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

THE FILM INDUSTRY'S NUMBER ONE PLACE TO MARKET YOUR FILM AND "PARTY" :)  :(

The Cannes film festival will not take place "in its original form" this year, due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Organisers first postponed the festival last month, saying that they would aim to stage it in June or July this year.
But in an updated statement, they said that plan was now "no longer an option" after France extended its lockdown measures this week.
They did not elaborate on what the alternatives could be but said they hoped "to communicate promptly".
The prestigious festival was originally scheduled to take place in the south of France from 12 to 23 May.
Sad day indeed IF they don't have it at all..that's where you see 'everyone' that matters.

P DIDDY

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS

P DIDDY

Things got a little awkward on Easter Sunday when Lizzo started showing off her moves on Diddy's Instagram Live. The 50-year-old music producer and artist was hosting the "world's biggest dance-a-thon" on his account in an effort to raise money to benefit healthcare workers in underserved areas amid the coronavirus outbreak.
Diddy was joined by several big names, including his ex, Jennifer Lopez, and her new fiancé, Alex Rodriguez, as well as Lizzo.
When the "Truth Hurts" singer joined the dance-a-thon, things got a little racy on the religious holiday as she started to twerk while Diddy's sons danced on his account.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa!" Diddy shouted, rushing into the frame and stopping the music. "It's Easter Sunday, let's play something a little more family friendly."

Coronavirus: Georgia’s Film Industry is Ready to Bounce Back

Once the Coronavirus Pandemic is over, Georgia's film industry is set to bounce back. Leaders in Georgia’s film and TV industry are optimistic about the future of the state’s film industry despite the Hollywood shutdown.
Many production studios are still negotiating new and upcoming deals...so don't fret...ok.

Tyler Perry's BIG TIP

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS

On Sunday, Tyler Perry made an effort to boost the bank accounts for restaurant employees who've seen their bottom lines plummet due to the coronavirus' economic destruction.
In slightly less dramatic parlance, that means he gave out $21,000 in tips to workers at a Houston's restaurant in Atlanta. TMZ reports that the five-figure gratuity amounted to $500 each for 42 employees. Note that, while nearly all industries are taking a beating, restaurants (and the hospitality business, in general) have been especially hard hit by the moratorium on public gatherings.
