ATLANTA'S FILM INDUSTRY IS 'STILL GROWING'

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS;

ATLANTA'S FILM INDUSTRY IS 'STILL GROWING'

According to the Atlanta Business Chronicle, a southeast Atlanta film studio, Blackhall Studios, plans to double its square footage to an investment that could potentially reach $100 million.
Blackhall Studios opened in April 2017 and apparently needs more space to keep up with Georgia’s growing film industry. Currently, the sound stage complex currently has 850,000 square feet of space, including mill space, office space and 210,000 square feet of sound stages. This includes its original 53-acre complex east of the Atlanta airport at 1415 Constitution Rd. and an adjacent 410,000-square-foot former Kroger distribution center, which it recently leased and is calling Blackhall East.

DREAMS>>>

IN  MY OPINION
WILLIAM REYNOLDS

DREAMS>>>

I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.
 I ALSO BELIEVE THAT WHOMEVER SAID THIS HAD THEIR S**** TOGETHER.

ATLANTA LANDMARKS>>> SEVERAL OTHERS ON THE WAY

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS;
ATLANTA LANDMARKS>>> SEVERAL OTHERS ON THE WAY

THE CLERMONT IS THE ATL'S OLDEST AND BEST KNOWN STRIP CLUB
SOME SAY IT SHOULD BE A NATIONAL LANDMARK.
Ah, Anthony Bourdain. He visited Atlanta and decided that The Clermont Lounge should be a national landmark. The Lounge is a unique place — it’s Atlanta’s oldest operating strip club, and it has entertained a variety of celebs passing through the city. Blondie is the club’s most famous employee, and she’s known for both writing poetry and crushing beer cans between her breasts. She once even kicked Mumford & Sons out for violating her most important rule: no photos.

ATLANTA IS A HIP-HOP MECCA>>

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS
ATLANTA IS A HIP-HOP MECCA>>
Outkast, Usher, Ludacris, T.I., 2 Chainz, Goodie Mob, Waka Flocka, Gucci Mane — the list of famous Atlanta hip-hop acts and artists could go on forever. For likely over a decade, Atlanta has been considered a hip-hop mecca — consistently discovering new hip-hop artists and featuring them on V-103, Hot 107.9 or Street 94.5. As Atlanta music expert Neima Abdulahi told The Huffington Post — “It’s so hard to even go in depth about the hip-hop music scene here... It’s more than just a genre.”

AND,,IF YOU CAN'T FIND IT IN ATLANTA

IN MY OPINION;

WILLIAM REYNOLDS;

AND,,IF YOU CAN'T FIND IT IN ATLANTA, IT'S EASY TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE;

Then you’ll just have to get out of town. Whatever you can’t find in Atlanta, you can get to in a few hours at the insanely huge, insanely busy Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. It’s on roughly 4,700 acres, the best place for non-stop flights and home to its own club/VIP area as well as the largest international concourse in the world.

SO, WHAT DO EXTRAS IN THE BACKGROUND TALK ABOUT??

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:
SO, WHAT DO EXTRAS IN THE BACKGROUND TALK ABOUT??
THE FOLLOWING IS FROM A L.A. MAGAZINE, INTERVIEW WITH A FEATURED EXTRA KELLY;
INTERESTING;
"If you're in a restaurant scene, you might be talking about the food."
However, with enough experience and self-control, a background actor can discuss anything—gay rumors, one-night stands—while the cameras are rolling, as long as the voice level stays under control and the A.D. remains satisfied.
"I was on a day job for [a network drama]," Kelly tells this B!tch. "And there were two gay actors working with me, and they were telling me exactly who was gay in Hollywood, right there, during the scene."
On another gig, Kelly found herself listening to a fellow extra talking about a quickie sex romp she'd had—minutes earlier.
"It was for [a popular sitcom]," Kelly recalls. "The scene was supposed to be at a funeral for a pet, and my colleague is explaining that during the lunch break she picked up a guy at a gas stationand screwed him."
Honestly. There is just no respect for fake dead pets these days.

DREAMERS DREAM>>>DOERS DO>>>

The world needs dreamers and the world needs doers. But above all, the world needs dreamers who do.
Which one are you. Better still,  which one do you "think you are"????

HOW TO GO FROM AN 'EXTRA' TO A 'PRINCIPAL'.

IN MY OPINION;
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:
HOW TO GO FROM AN 'EXTRA' TO A 'PRINCIPAL'.
Take your craft seriously enough to train and sign up for classes.
"I would advise anyone who is trying to transition from a background actor to a principal actor to take acting classes. Working in front of the camera is totally different from working behind it. Once you have trained, go and audition for some indie projects to enhance the skills you've learned in class," Adams said. "Acting is actively listening, reacting and being in the moment, allowing life to happen through you. If someone can tell you are acting, then you are doing it wrong. Acting is 'being." Don't listen to other 'extras' that can't wait to tell you what to do. If they knew they wouldn't be there. As an extra>>if you have the talent to move up<< you can also get 'upgraded' to a principal.
Be willing to accepted unpaid roles. They also go on your resume.

QUOTE FROM A lA ACTOR AND DIRECTOR

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS.

QUOTE FROM A lA ACTOR AND DIRECTOR

Even though I am an actor, I can see why so many casting people get annoyed with us.

I'm casting for my next film and I scheduled an audition with a male actor. First the time was set, but then he texted me after midnight to ask if we could change the time because he didn't want to come to my audition and then have to hang out in Hollywood for a few hours before he went to his next audition. He wanted to do them back to back. I told him no and tried to reschedule him for the next day and then he said he didn't want to do it the next day because he worked until noon, and then he usually likes to either hang out in Hollywood or go to Venice to the beach and if he chose Venice, he didn't want to have to come back later. DONE.

Next, I scheduled an interview with an actress just to meet with her and see her personality. I already saw her demo reel and was happy so didn't need an actual audition. I asked her to meet me at a Starbucks, but when I got there, it was packed and there was nowhere to sit. I asked her to meet me at another Starbucks 5 minutes up the street because I knew that one would have seating. She said she didn't know where that one was (despite it being 5 minutes east of the one she was gonna meet me at, and I even give her the address and cross street) and asked me to meet her at a different one that was almost 20 minutes west of where I was. Are you really that dumb that I have to go 20 minutes in the opposite direction because you can't go 5 minutes east of where we were originally supposed to meet?

Ugh... I hate the casting process. I really do.

ANOTHER SCARY AUDITION

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS;
ANOTHER SCARY AUDITION;
 “I went for an audition for a comedic web series and it turned out to be in a deserted apartment building, with a 6th floor walk-up in the guys apartment! He was the only one running auditions and you had to buzz to get in, and buzz again, then knock on the door. He kept leaving during the audition to let people in. He had two small dogs running around barking during the taping. And the audition was improv, but he talked most of it. And I didn’t get more than a few words in. Tre-bizarre!” – Anonymous
What We Learned: Always make sure you clarify the audition location before heading to the audition. And remember that it’s just an audition! There will be more. So, if you’re not comfortable with how it’s set-up, you don’t need to feel obligated to stay. Or even go in in the first place!

THIS CAN COST YOU THE PART

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

THIS CAN COST YOU THE PART>>>

Most actors spend time commiserating over how difficult or lousy auditions for T.V. shows can be. They moan about how long they were kept waiting at their movie auditions or how rude the casting director was. They complain about the number of lines or the short amount of time they had to prepare. While I know their complaints may be warranted, I also know that a lousy carpenter always blames his tools.

casting nightmare

IN MY OPINION;

WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

casting nightmare>>>>

“I had to leave work early and take three subways to Chinatown to get to my audition. It was really hot in the city. Way hotter than it was by my job. And when I finally got to the right building I was a sweaty mess! I then had to walk-up three flights of stairs because there was no elevator or anything! When the casting director first saw me, all he did was look at me in disgust and called me in to audition. I didn’t even have a chance to catch my breath! Then, sitting under the light and sweating made me totally forget everything I prepared. I even felt the sweat dripping down my forehead! Of course, I never heard from them. Which stinks because I really felt that I could’ve been exactly what they were looking for!”
– Anonymous

I Learned: Always show-up with enough time to fully prepare yourself before you go into the room! And be fully prepared if heading to a location you’re not familiar with or that may take you a while to get to.

- According to Gabrielle Union, “Being Mary Jane” is cancelled all because of rapper 50Cent. Last month, BET announced that the show was coming to an end, however, fans get to say goodbye with a 2hr movie. During an interview on First We Feast's “Hot Ones” talk show, she tells fan to ask 50 Cent.

SO, HOW MUCH MONEY IS ENOUGH>>

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS
SO, HOW MUCH MONEY IS ENOUGH>>

But throughout most of the United States, that number is five figures, not six–somewhere between $65,000and $99,000 per year. In other words, it's not so much that money buys happiness as that not having enough money for a comfortable life can cause unhappiness.

SO WHY DO YOU WANT TO BEGIN AN ACTING CAREER IN 'ATLANTA GA'??

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

SO WHY DO YOU WANT TO BEGIN AN ACTING CAREER IN 'ATLANTA GA'??
THIS IS WHY>>>

“Earlier last year, Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal declared 2017 ‘the year of Georgia film.’ The truth is, the state actually claimed this title the year prior, in 2016. The rapid growth of the film and television industry in Georgia and the state’s steadfast commitment to its support is remarkable. With 17 projects in 2016, the first-ranked Peach State hosted nearly three times as many feature films as fifth-place New York and Louisiana.
This is almost certainly due to the state’s record investment in film attraction. As the most recent Georgia Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget Report shows, Georgia set another record for spending on its incentive program last year. According to the report,3 the cost of Georgia’s film tax credit in terms of credits issued was $606 million in FY2016, which is the largest amount spent by any jurisdiction in North America or Europe on a film tax credit program in a single year. This breaks the previous record of $504 million, which is what Georgia spent on its program in FY2015.”
So,,,what is 2018 going to look like,,, OR TO ACTUALLY BE...........WE CANNOT WAIT...

ARE YOU A PRO?? OR, HAPPY BEING JUST AN AMATEUR??

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

ARE YOU A PRO?? OR, HAPPY BEING JUST AN AMATEUR??
Amateurs believe that the world should work the way they want it to. Professionals realize that they have to work with the world as they find it. Amateurs are scared — scared to be vulnerable and honest with themselves. Professionals feel like they are capable of handling almost anything.>>Luck aside, which approach do you think is going to yield better results? >>>>>>>>>      Food for Thought:<<<<<<<<<< ***In what circumstances do you find yourself behaving like an amateur instead of as a professional? ***What’s holding you back? Are you hanging around people who are amateurs (this is what happens most often when deciding to pursue acting..even modeling to an extent) when you should be hanging around professionals?

GOOD ACTING IS NOT ALL THAT EASY.

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

GOOD ACTING IS NOT ALL THAT EASY.

Creation is a physical activity, not a mental one. The body can create better and faster than the mind ever could. A camera responds better to the physical than it does to the cerebral. But then why do so many actors spend so much time working in their heads? It’s how their “actor’s process” works. Their actor’s process entails a lot of analysis and takes a lot of time, and it’s the number one reason most actors don’t come across cinematic on camera. They’re stuck in their heads, so they’re not popping on screen.
Actors who know how to create physically, however, are going to create more memorable film work much more quickly and vividly, and it will be a lot more enjoyable, both for us and for them. With many actors, it doesn’t look like they even enjoy being on camera. They look like they’re working really, really hard. And if you’re working really hard, imagine what that’s like to watch?

Why actors love filming in Atlanta;;

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:
Why actors love filming in Atlanta;;
Recently, during the press tour for the movie, the cast and crew of Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle shared behind-the-scenes details on filming in Georgia and why they enjoy filming in the state.
As Kevin Hart said, “Atlanta is Amazing. When you have that type of environment you are set up to win.”
And do not forget Dwayne Johnson...you will know him, he's twice the size of Kevin, gut guess
who's worth the most money???? KEVIN>>>>> Surprised? I was too>>>>

PILOT SEASON HAS JUST BEGUN

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

PILOT SEASON HAS JUST BEGUN.
HERE IS 'ONE' MYTH::
Unrepresented actors have a chance.
A lot of actors believe that pilot season is a magical time when the castle gates swing open, allowing actors with no experience a chance to audition for the most important roles in television. It’s a nice image, but nothing could be further from the truth. If anything, getting in the room becomes much harder because the competition is so fierce. And if you don’t have a decent agent to speak on your behalf, you are 'not trained'  have crappy photos,  then the odds of getting a shot at those high-paying, series regular roles just went from bad to nonexistent.>>> Back in the day, actors used to “go to L.A. for pilot season.” And not The Atl, is just as important  if not more so.,,but, that concept is  laughable if it weren’t so sad. It amazes me that unrepresented actors with no casting contacts little or no background just show up in LA and The Atl, every year for a pilot season they’re never going to experience. It’s like going to the hottest club in town when your name isn’t on the list so you end up spending the whole night outside, watching the cool people...with the creds to get in....same thing, pilot season.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IS PERFOMING IN THE SUPER BOWL, BUT WHAT AFTER THAT.???

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE IS PERFOMING IN THE SUPER BOWL, BUT WHAT AFTER THAT.???

Well, old Justin just might be hitting the road! A concert date on March 13, 2018, in Toronto, Ontario, looks to have mistakenly appeared on Ticketmaster and has since been deleted. This may suggest that not only will Timberlake announce a tour soon, he may even go on the road before summer. In that case, it’s likely an album would already be out and he would be promoting the new music.
Pretty good actor as well, of course it helps when you are already FAMOUS..RIGHT?

WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GET THE BOOKING, THE JOB, OR EVEN THE CHANCE?

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:
WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T GET THE BOOKING, THE JOB, OR EVEN THE CHANCE?
1.  THEN>>>Don’t show up late.You learned this in first grade, when the teacher began keeping track of tardies: Being on time matters. Especially on your audition for the part you've always wanted.  In fact, showing up late on your first 'real' opportunity is guaranteed to make a negative impression. To ensure you’ll be on time, you might want to test drive the route for your audition or booking so you’ll know how long it takes to get there. Factor in extra time if there’s traffic, construction, or other reasons to expect a delay. AND DON'T FORGET THE ATLANTA TRAFFIC, ESPECIALLY EARLY OR IN THE AFTERNOON....'VITAL'

HOW TO DRESS FOR AN AUDITION

N MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

HOW TO DRESS FOR AN AUDITION::

Women >> should wear a pencil skirt or dress pants, heels, and a blouse or non-baggy sweater. If auditioning for a character who is less upscale, dress down appropriately, but not to an extreme degree. Women should factor in makeup and jewelry choices, too, depending on the character.
Men>> take a tip from the women, don't dress like you're going to Six Flags or Mickey D's, You don't have to wear a suit either, Probably not jeans.
Not saying they don't look nice, but you are going somewhere (an audition for a film or commercial, or to see and agent for the first time) that could
possibly change your life.
So unless you are already KNOWN, take heed.
