Doing Something is Better than Nothing

The tragedies in life lie in not reaching your goal. But not having a goal to reach.
Benjamin Mays

Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.
Henry Ford

If you have the will to win you will have achieved half your success. If you don't you will have achieved half your failure.

Knowing what to do and doing nothing about it is the same thing as not knowing what to do.

Do the work, Get recognized!

The more you worry about being applauded, about being recognized, about being a celebrity, about making money, the less you focus on the work required to get the recognition and the money. To double your net worth, to double your self worth, still will never match up to the image you have of yourself.
Do you want something? Then for goodness sake do something about it.

JOIN OR REPRESENT?

You don't "JOIN" an agency. You "JOIN" a counrty club or maybe an ogranization.
You 'SIGN" with an agency. You are "REPRESENTED" by an agency.
Those that use "JOIN" usually are not with a "REAL" agency or, with anyone at all.

Stay Humble

Being a celebrity or well known can be tricky. Even the good guys can get unfairly categorized as selfish party animals. However, there are tons of celebrities and well known people that dedicate a lot of their personal time and money to help others.

Have a Goal!

We cannot, and should not anticipate problems that may never happen. Footprints in the sands of life and time are not made by someone sitting down. Have a goal, stretch out and reach out for it. Don't rely on others to do it for you.

It's a Business not a Hobby...

Every actor strives to have a great relationship with their agent, and vice-versa. You often hear actors praising their agent while others complain about theirs. The agent cannot put all the energy into the relationship. Nor, can you expect them to do 'all' the work. Patience, loyalty is a two way street. Believing in yourself will go a long way.
Remember, this is a business and not a hobby.

Have a great Head shot...

DO, have a great head shot that looks like you. You can be the most talented actor in the world but it won't do you any good if you don't get your foot in the door if you don't have a 'great' head shot. Any not just 'any' professional photographer can do that correctly. The head shot is the first step in the casting process. Do it properly 'the first time'.

BE ON TIME!!!

Always, always be on time for auditions and call backs. Give yourself plenty of time to get to the casting or booking location. There is absolutely no excuse for being late, EVER. Be sure to allow for bad weather or traffic. One of the gripes we hear from clients, casting directors, etc., that film on location in the South is talent showing up late for a very expensive filming.

Guys, actors and models, lay your foundation for success with the bricks that others have thrown at you.
Prepare yourself for success, don't just cross your fingers and let someone else do it for you. That is not going to happen.  Listen to those in your industry that 'are' successful and very little to those on the same rung of the ladder with you.

What you need to know

Many actors/models of all ages that come in to see us already have everything they need. Usually very professional training and photos that make a casting director or director want to see you and your resume. They need nothing and we are glad to see them.
While others do not have everything they need. Once they have gone through the interview/audition process with one of our agents and they do well, many times the agency will pay for just about everything it takes to bring them up to speed. But they (you) must be seen, not just talked to on the phone. There are some pretty good reasons that we have an A+ rating with the BBB and have been in business for over 30 years. We do a ton of castings every day. Atlanta is a super area for this industry, give yourself a 'real' chance to experience it.
