Elton John says Michael Jackson came off as "genuinely mentally ill" late in life -- which left the Rocket Man himself believing the King of Pop had gone off the deep end.

The singer makes some pretty big claims about MJ in his new memoir, "Me," which is coming out Tuesday. Certain outlets have obtained an advanced copy of the book -- and one excerpt about Michael is making the rounds ... in which Elton discusses his mental state.

Per reports, Elton writes ... "I’d known Michael since he was 13 or 14 ... He was just the most adorable kid you could imagine. But at some point in the intervening years, he started sequestering himself away from the world, and away from reality the way Elvis Presley did."       

Then comes the big allegation, with Elton writing ... "I don’t mean that in the light-hearted way. He was genuinely mentally ill, a disturbing person to be around."

Elton continues by describing a time he invited MJ to a party of his, claiming that the guy had wandered off at one point and was found playing with Elton's housekeeper's son. He says, "For whatever reason, he couldn’t seem to cope with adult company at all."

Before he can become the Clown Prince in Todd Phillips’s Joker, Arthur Fleck first has to die.

Over two grueling hours, Fleck is gradually betrayed by the bleak circumstances of gritty, ’70s-era New York (or thereabouts); what few friends and little family he has; his own neurochemistry and comedic timing; at one hilarious moment, an exit-only sliding door. Joker’s job is to coronate its namesake, but also to brutally depict the life of Arthur Fleck and his descent into madness. Oftentimes, because there’s not really a Batman to measure him against, yes, this feels a lot like sympathy.

One L.A. movie theater's screenings of Joker became the target of an apparent prankster on Friday. Amid security concerns for screenings of the Warner Bros. film this weekend, a sign appeared at an Arclight Cinemas in Los Angeles stating, "Please note: We are enforcing a strict "No guys who look like they've never had sex" policy for tonight's screenings of Joker due to safety precautions," according to several social-media users who shared the notice on Friday.

Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin tied the knot for a second time on Monday, this time doing it in front of about 150 friends and family at a beautiful lowcountry resort in South Carolina. It was, by all accounts, a wonderful ceremony and reception, although now Kylie Jenner is causing a bit of a stir among fans. It’s not for anything she necessarily did, but for what she decided to wear to the wedding, that has some people upset. Jenner showed up in a gold foil dress that had a waist-high slit. Apparently, that outfit was too over-the-top for some fans who say she stole attention away from the bride by wearing it.
