An agent

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS

BEING AN AGENT:

Georgia is now the second leading state for film production in the country behind LA (of course) and just a little ahead of NY. And, it's getting bigger all the time. Many professionals from those other two cities come here to enhance their market. Some move here but still have agents in their other state. In fact there are many of these qualified actors. Many are SAG/AFTRA (UNION), and are ready from Jump Street, right now, photos (good ones) resume, training and experience. They don't need anything. Some will sign with a SAG agency. Maybe even an exclusive contract. While others will try to get more than one agent. Still there are even more that are NON-UNION. Some already live here while others come from another state. After all Georgia is number two, for this industry. We are not just getting big WE ARE ALREADY BIG.

Our agency represents both Union and Non-Union talent, which personally, it think gives us an advantage. Agents, real agents, work on commissions from what the talent that they represent earn. So, some are ready, and prepared, while others, not so much. We try to prepare those that are chosen by seeing that they have proper training, something that looks good on your resume. Also super photos to show to potential clients. Way, way too many aspiring actors think ( I should say dream) they are ready without doing what everyone else does, or did. Plus throw in the little 'factoid" that that 98% of the agents (and I use the word loosely) give the other two
percent a bad name. Selling classes that are less than useful, etc.Telling you that you've 'got it'.etc. Giving out information that is totally false. An example might be telling a person from another country that they cannot use an {O-1) Visa and get a Union Contract, or, sometimes can't even work...period. That my friends is simply NOT TRUE. They can work, they can get a Union contract. They can work. In short, it helps to do your research.
