THE FILM/TV CLAPPERBOARD! USED FOR WHAT?

IN MY OPINION:
WILLIAM REYNOLDS:

THE FILM/TV CLAPPERBOARD! USED FOR WHAT?

Called a clapperboard or a slate board, among other things, it's used to make syncing audio and film easier and to identify takes and scenes. ... The two are synced, and the board just has to be shown to the camera before a scene for the editors to find the same point in the film and audio tracks, no clap needed. Originally the board was also made of slate, making it easier to write on with chalk. :)
