“I'll use a sports analogy,” since in theory it's much like the movie/tv industry. “The studio or whoever finances the movie is the team owner. The director is the coach. The star is your star athlete. And the producer is the general manager. If you use any professional team  as an example, It's the general manager and the coach that puts it all together, while mostly staying in the background.” But still get the Oscar when it all works out.
